International Schools

At Fairlawn, we are strong advocates of celebrating diversity. By practising cultural exchange in our community and beyond, we believe we are reinforcing our school values of friendship, responsibility and empathy and helping to develop global citizens of the future.

In February 2020, we achieved the Intermediate International School Award. Our assessors concluded that:

“Fairlawn Primary School have clearly shown a commitment over a period of time to working with a school in Zambia. This has been enhanced by the latest Connecting Classrooms project and has extended to involve a further school which has real challenges around several of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Work has been carried out to offer support as well as collaboration and through this the pupils at the school have really broadened their understanding and skills around critical thinking and empathy. Through the various curriculum activities the pupils have been empowered to embrace some of the issues involved in Zambia and to actively be involved in working towards supporting solutions.”
